Role Responsibility
Key accountabilities
1. Providing guidance on people practices to stakeholders to ensure all functions have
a great team of people with high levels of engagement
2. Support Team Members through to Team Leaders to ensure effective two-way
communication within and across teams
3. Provide regular up to date data for trend analysis and insight on people KPI’s
4. Manage the employee life cycle from invite through to onboarding, issuing all
supporting correspondence (contracts of employment, end of probation period
letters)
5. Promote the health and wellbeing of our people
6. Facilitate payroll monthly process
7. Play a lead role in supporting managers with day-to-day people management and ER
activities within the teams
8. Support the site key deliverable activities as per the annual people plan
Key responsibilities
1. Through regular KPI reporting provided insight to managers and team leaders on
their team and people performance. Ensure regular review and action planning
to deliver improvements in policy, process and performance.
2. Provide confidential support and advice to Bigham’s managers on people related
matters including team development, performance management and absence
management.
3. Facilitate the monthly payroll process to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time.
4. Ensure active management of any recurring absence problem or health issue to support employee’s wellbeing, and where appropriate engage with occupational health advisors.
5. Become a ‘super-user’ of the HRIS system rolling out better use of the system functionality to automate people processes and deliver user training where appropriate.
6. Support with café briefing, ensuring inclusion of all key news and people celebrations, timely set up and preparation of all awards and certificates and that noticeboards are updated in a timely manner.
7. Support with Bigham’s parties, ensuring the events are clearly communicated, people are engaged with them, want to attend – and have a great time!
8. Support Bigham’s annual employee survey, ensuring maximum participation 9. Manage Maternity & Paternity from application through to completion
10. Support with absence and conduct reviews where appropriate
11. Delivery of people related training workshops where required, for example return to work training.
12. Manage the employee life cycle from onboarding, issuing all supporting correspondence (contracts of employment, end of probation period letters).
13. Key member of the local site People team.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience
Previous experience of working in a generalist HR role
Demonstrable understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
Experience of working collaboratively with line managers and leaders
Experience of working in a fast paced food manufacturing, FMCG or service organisation
Skills
Competent user of MS Office at intermediate level
Data reporting and analysis in Excel
Confident and effective communicator
Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships
Able to present compelling messages and influence others
A great organiser with attention to detail
Ability to multi-task
