Job Introduction
Our Technical Team play an important role in ensuring our quality measures maintain our BRC A Grade Certification. This role will be ensuring quality performance from customers, suppliers and internal findings are monitored, trended, and provide early escalation to any quality issues to drive improvement. Maintaining and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) and standards across all areas of production on daily basis and providing support to the wider technical team is also part of this role.
Role Responsibility
Working with relevant teams to ensure:
- Customer feedback analysis is available and understood to support quality improvement and development of a quality awareness/quality culture.
- Quality monitoring and improvement agenda is communicated and driven.
- Supplier assurance related systems are implemented, supported and managed on site.
Customer feed back and Quality:
- Analyse customer feedback data and generate customer feedback reports as required.
- Communicate effectively customer feedback with relevant departments within the site/business.
- Support the implementation of the quality improvement agenda.
- Lead and maintain communication with retailers on complaints queries.
- Respond to customers complaints (typically retailer complaints) and update relevant departments with progress on investigations.
- Foreign body complaints and near misses handling
- Generate complaints data analysis and reports including presentations.
- Support completion of quality and taste panels
- Maintain quality related data bases and keep it up to date
- Lead x-functional quality meetings
- Challenge customers complaints when necessary
General:
- Support traceability and mass balance checks and exercises when required.
- Support completing internal audits.
- Lead and support projects as required.
- Support the Technical Team on general tasks, activities and projects as required.
Production related
- Pro-actively work within the production environment to identify opportunities for improvement and leading communication and follow up activities.
- Create and drive awareness on quality related trends.
- Quality standards audits.
- Liaise with relevant management and team members regarding quality related issues.
- Report and communicate raw material issues to relevant teams and check that effective corrective actions are in place.
Supplier & Raw Materials:
- Decision-making regarding routine raw materials and packaging testing schedule
- Review and approve raw material specification and new supplier approval documentation as required.
- Lead supplier related complaint investigations and internal foreign body finds in relation with raw materials.
- Communicate with suppliers relevant customer complaints
- Challenge specifications parameters based on results from raw material inspections, internal findings and customer complaints.
- Support monitoring of timely and satisfactory closure of supplier non-conformances by reviewing the supplier’s investigation and corrective actions
- Ensure that any raw materials and packaging that are used on a concession bases are communicated to relevant teams
- Manage the risk assessment and maintain the raw material sampling schedule, ensuring any new raw materials are added.
- Support in managing existing key cards and creating key cards for any new raw materials and packaging
- Artwork checks and packaging approval

- Auditor training
- HACCP level 2
- Available to work outside of normal hours and bank holidays if required.
- Food science related qualification would be beneficial.
