Job Introduction
Within a successful and collaborative commercial team, as Senior National Account Manager you own the commercial relationship with a key grocery customer to develop motivating and commercially sound business plans to deliver our ambitious growth plans. You will work cross-functionally across other teams including category, finance, brand and supply planning to exceed your customer. Reporting into the Head of Sales and with direct line management for a commercial executive you need to be an effective communicator across multi-layered cross-functional relationships.
Role Responsibility
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management: P&L responsibility and delivery – crafting tailored plans to maximise sales and growth opportunities.
- Be the expert in your retailer’s strategy and bring this to life in the business ensuring alignment and understanding between our internal teams and your retail customers
- Negotiation of annual agreements and JBP’s
- Ownership of your sales forecast, trade spend and create a plan to exceed the agreed annual plan (volume, revenue, GP, GM%)
- Collaborative working to deliver excellent forecast accuracy across 2 kitchens
- Own your relationships with our customers, nurturing strong, customer-centric partnerships with our retailers to create opportunities to maximise growth.
- Deliver Revenue Growth Management initiatives to sustainably improve our profitability, whilst also delivering for our customers and consumers.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Influence cross-functionally to ensure your customers have the right recipe for growth.
- Align with Marketing and Food teams to deliver best-in-class in-store presence for your retailers
- Management of a commercial executive ensuring they deliver across their customer portfolio and are prepared for future opportunities within the business
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate
A top-class commercial operative with a demonstrable passion for both food and sales, you’ll have FMCG experience within UK Grocery. The ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally. Highly numerate, with the ability to extract and concisely present the key insight from complex data sets. Curious, with the ability to influence for the very best outcome, at all levels. Comfortable working in a fast moving and agile environment
Experience Required
- Experience of working as a NAM or SNAM and ideally a Top 4 Grocer
- P&L and JBP accountability
- Branded FMCG Experience
Qualifications
- Hold a valid UK Driving Licence
Skills
- Proven negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to handle tough conversations
- A pro-active solution orientated approach under pressure
- Understanding of the UK Grocery market, ideally with premium brands
- Creating compelling selling stories (data analysis and presentation of insight)
- Analytical thinking with the ability to distil information and drive action
- People management is not a necessity but is a key part of this role
