Job Introduction
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to provide engineering support on shift to ensure 100% production machinery availability through preventative and reactive maintenance, carry out building and outdoor maintenance as required- through off site and on the job training in line with Apprenticeship frame work.
Role Responsibility
Key accountabilities
- Maintain excellent levels of service to the production operation.
- Support the Maintenance Engineers by carrying out planned maintenance to world class standards in line with the maintenance plan.
- Ensure all engineering procedures are adhered to, and all work carried out to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a controlled manner in line with the company’s technical procedures.
- Maintain a safe clean working environment for all members of staff on site.
- Attend off site training as part of Apprenticeship frame work.
- Complete on job training with site mentor
- Complete all Apprenticeship associated write up/paper work.
Key Areas of Work
RODUCTION SUPPORT
Maintain production equipment in acceptable working order
Minimise reaction time to machinery breakdown
Reduce machinery downtime
Improve machinery efficiency
Support training of operators on new machinery where required
Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward maintenance
Proactively promote correct use of equipment
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel in line with company and legislative requirements
Follow all engineering health and safety procedures
Participate in the health and safety team and carry out required H&S functions
PEOPLE
Communicate effectively with operational staff through formal and informal interactions
Participate in meetings and trials where engineering input is required
QUALITY / TECHNICAL STANDARDS
Maintain machinery in working order to meet quality and technical requirements
Follow technical procedures for general site maintenance
Work closely with the hygiene team to ensure proper cleaning procedures
Proactively improve engineering functions to reduce food safety risk
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Assist and support the NPD team with trials and equipment solutions where required
The Ideal Candidate
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above
GCSE Maths and Science at Grade 5 and above
