Producing thousands of meals every day demands exceptional hygiene standards, and we're looking for a Night Hygiene Lead to help drive them.
Leading a dedicated hygiene team, you'll take ownership of standards, safety and performance across our production areas. From coaching and developing your team to planning resources, managing priorities and ensuring compliance, you'll be instrumental in creating a clean, safe and audit-ready environment every day.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building high-performing teams and making a visible impact. As a Night Hygiene Lead, you'll have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while helping us deliver the exceptional quality Charlie Bigham's is known for.
Working Hours
4 on, 4 off | 6pm - 6am
Role Responsibility
- Leading and motivating your team to deliver exceptional hygiene, safety and operational standards every shift.
- Delivering team briefings, setting clear priorities and ensuring a positive start to the day.
- Managing labour, breaks, holidays and resources to ensure your team is set up for success.
- Supporting, coaching and developing team members through regular feedback, training and performance reviews.
- Working closely with Team Leaders, Managers and support teams to deliver the daily plan safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, GMP, 5S and Health & Safety standards through regular audits and checks.
- Maintaining high quality standards and escalating any concerns promptly to the relevant teams.
- Identifying and solving problems quickly to minimise disruption and keep operations running smoothly.
- Liaising with internal teams to resolve equipment issues and maintain productivity.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and ways of working.
- Monitoring area performance and ensuring production targets, throughput and efficiency standards are achieved.
- Supporting succession planning and helping develop future talent within the team.

You'll also have:
- Experience within a food production, manufacturing, hygiene or FMCG environment.
- A strong understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Previous experience leading, coaching or developing a team is desirable but not essential.
- Good IT skills and the ability to complete operational and people-related administration accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to make decisions and escalate issues when required.
- A genuine passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- A proactive, motivated and resilient approach to work.
- The ability to manage priorities and maintain high standards under pressure.

We're looking for a Night Hygiene Lead to help drive high standards, support a successful team and play a key role in keeping our production environment operating at its best.

Whether you're an experienced supervisor ready to step into your first leadership role or an established Team Leader, we'd love to hear from you. Candidates may be appointed internally as either a Trainee Team Leader or Team Leader, with salary offered accordingly.
