Packing Team Member - Friday to Sunday Days

Job Introduction

Our Packing Friday to Sunday shift offers full‑time hours (34) condensed into just 3 days, meaning you’ll have Monday to Thursday off every week — more time to rest, recharge and enjoy life outside of work.

As part of the Packing Team, you’ll play a key role in the final stage of our production process, ensuring our dishes meet Bigham’s high standards before heading out to our customers.


Working hours

  • Friday: 7am – 5pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 7am – 7pm

Role Responsibility

Main responsibilities

As a Packing Team Member, you will:

  • Use specialist equipment to identify and remove dishes that don’t meet Bigham’s quality standards
  • Carefully measure and add toppings to finish dishes to a high standard
  • Refill packing machines with cardboard sleeves or boxes
  • Accurately stack boxed dishes onto pallets and move completed pallets to Logistics
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and a clean, tidy workspace
  • Complete food preparation records and logs
  • Carry out effective and accurate shift handovers
  • Flag any equipment issues within your area
  • Work as part of a fast‑paced team to achieve the daily production plan

You’ll also need:

  • Confidence working with technology and machinery, including packing and quality‑check equipment
  • A willingness to learn how to use existing and newly introduced packing equipment
  • The ability to regularly lift boxes of up to 20kg
  • A positive and reliable approach to work
  • A desire to develop your skills and grow as part of the Bigham’s team

Experience in a packing, machinist or food production role would be beneficial, but isn’t essential - full training will be provided.

What you’ll receive

  • A competitive hourly rate of £15.92, rising to £16.57 after 3 months
    (equivalent to over £28,000 per year, rising to over £29,000, based on a 34‑hour week, excluding overtime)
